    Homes For Our Troops

     

    Guest Speaker: Colonel (R) Bill Ivey

     

    This presentation provided an overview of the work Homes For Our Troops is accomplishing. The
    mission is to build and donate specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-
    9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. These Veterans have suffered multiple
    amputations, paralysis, blindness, or traumatic brain injury, and the homes provide an environment
    that is fully accessible to someone in a wheelchair. To date Homes For Our Troops has completed
    over 300 homes in 42 states, with over 60 active projects in various stages of land search, permitting,
    and construction, including ten in Florida.

    Non-Destructive Vacuum Excavation for Mitigating Utility Conflicts

    This presentation examined the non-destructive vacuum excavation methods to physically relocate utilities in conflict, and new innovative way of mitigating conflicts before or during construction developed by Badger Daylighting.
