Capital Program Update

This presentation will provide an overview of the economics and its effects on the Central Florida market. Subsequently, the presentation will look to summarize recent capital projects the port has completed in support of its ongoing growth. These projects include navigational channel and expansion and deepening, new cargo wharves, and upland improvements such as warehousing facilities, rail extension, roadways.
Additionally, the presentation will cover the Capital Improvement Program highlighting proposed work including land reclamation facilities to increase available cargo area along with additional channel deepening to improve ship movements, new container cranes and crane-related infrastructure, container cargo yard expansion, container gate facilities, new warehousing facilities, and tenant projects, such as flour mill facility, cement plant, and cardboard recycling facility.
As projects are reviewed, the presentation will highlight technical requirements and challenges of the projects.
Jose De Jesus is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience and has spent the last 6 years engineering and managing capital projects for Port Tampa Bay. Prior to working at the port, Mr. De Jesus worked as an engineering consultant designing a wide-range of projects for both public and private clients. He also spent time in the construction field working on design-build commercial projects and heavy civil projects. He is LEED Accredited Professional and received his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida.
